Salary: £15.69ph - £17.97ph - 45 hour working week. Salary depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time

Our Renewables Operations business has an opportunity for a Fabricator. Some of the key duties and responsibilities of this role are:

- Maintain components around our Civil Hydro Assets and Responsible for the day-to-day fabrication and installation of PUWER Safety and Access maintenance activities to our Hydro assets.

- Support the fabrication foreman and team through fabricating components and structures, assisting the team in the construction phase of works, using experience and broad technical knowledge to ensure site works are completed to our SHE, technical, programme and quality objectives.

- Ensure the highest level of health, safety and environmental compliance on SSE programme works, ensuring all SSE staff and contractors working on site comply with current safe working practices, setting the standard and leading the site to maintain it.

- Fulfil the roles under CDM (2015) ensuring compliance with the regulations and technical experience and knowledge to carry out fabrication work in the shop and work activities on site, reporting progress while ensuring compliance with agreed work scopes.

- Work with SSE staff and contractors to ensure rigorous application of risk assessments and frequent review of method statements.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Relevant experience in civil construction activities ranging from general labouring duties, concrete repairs, RC concreting works, and relevant activities within this industry.

- Plant operation experience would be advantageous

- Safety is one of our key priorities so you should have the ability to risk assess activities throughout your working day and to work within our Health and Safety guidelines.

- An ability to achieve authorisation levels within SSE Generation System Safety Rules (GSSRs) will be necessary (training will be provided).

- The work involves regular travel and where necessary, working away from home may be required. As you will be travelling to different sites it is essential you already hold a full, current driving licence.
