What is the Role
Reporting to the Head of Engineering - Offshore Projects and the Dogger Bank Senor Project Manager, you'll be responsible for the engineering management of the Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm project. A large part of this role will involve the effective management of a multi-discipline project engineering team and providing engineering assurances to the Design Authority that the project technology choice and design solution will deliver against stated project objectives and returns.
Some of your other main accountabilities will include;
-Developing the required engineering activities, work breakdown structure and schedule, commensurate with the project strategy and overall project programme.
-Being a single point of contact for the overall project relating to engineering development requirements.
-Ensure key decisions relating to engineering design development are analysed, recorded and clearly communicated
-Provide reliable engineering and design information and assumptions for use in project contracting, consenting and financial modelling activities.
-Work closely with Package Teams to coordinate and manage engineering Interfaces across the project and between packages.
What do I need?
We are looking for a Chartered Engineer and member of the Engineering Council who has extensive experience engineering management for high value generation asset projects, ideally experienced in offshore wind projects or other offshore engineering and construction. You'll be well versed in developing engineering design strategies, specifically relating to project and technology risk.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are a must, with the ability to affectively negotiate and influence across varying levels of stakeholders and manage conflict in high pressure situations.
Strong people management skills are essential for this role, as is the capability to organise staff both within the engineering team and wider matrix management structure to ensure delivery against project requirements and timescales.
Its also essential to have demonstrable commercial acumen and capability to understand the strategic context and implications of engineering activity and decisions.
