About the Department
Transmission operates under licence as Scottish Hydro Electric (SHE) Transmission plc, responsible for the transmission of electricity in the north of Scotland. We own and maintain the 132kV, 275kV and 400kV electricity transmission network in our licence area. Our network comprises of underground cables, overhead wooden poles, steel towers and electricity substations, and it extends over a quarter of the UK land mass across some of its most challenging terrain.
What is the Role?
The main purpose of the Digital Programme Lead role is to set, own and apply project and/or programme methodology within the overarching Business Change Framework, responsible for working in partnership to ensure all business change activities and deliverables (including organisational design, education and training, communications and engagement and business readiness) are delivered on time, to quality and budget across one or more projects which have significant change impacting one or more areas of the business. This includes planning, organising and controlling operational delivery of all projects within their remit, ensuring appropriate resource scheduling whilst maximising productivity and ensuring that work is effectively allocated and delivered by an appropriate mix of business and change team resources.
As a key member of the Business Change management team responsible for developing and shaping the growth of a high performing team, you will be expected to coach, guide and consult project, programme and Business Change resource on effective use of the Business Change Framework, ensuring successful implementation of transformation projects and realisation of benefits. Furthermore, you will provide forecast requirements, governance and quality assurance on business change deliverables across projects to ensure they are consistent and fit-for-purpose.
What do I need?
To be considered for the role, you will have a comprehensive understanding of business separation, regulation, anti-competitive and anti-bribery requirements and data protection requirements, enough to assess risk independently for projects and consult with relevant specialists as appropriate.
You will be able to demonstrate deep subject matter expertise in large complex programmes with a strong understanding of all Business Change disciplines (organisational design, education and training, communication and engagement, business readiness) and best practices.
Previous people management or technical specialist experience within a networks environment is desirable and an awareness of the inter-relationship between Distribution and Transmission.
Experience of benchmarking techniques, survey analysis and sourcing best practice as well as the confidence to negotiate effectively at all levels; excellent stakeholder management skills are essential.
