DevOps Engineer- Principal

A principal-level DevOps Engineer is required by this tech-innovation hub to instil the DevOps culture/technical approach within their established development teams.

Coming from a development background, the Principal DevOps Engineer will have an acute understanding of the SDLC and the implementation of CICD pipelines in developing, configuring and maintaining software delivery tools.

The Role:

The day-to-day work of a Principal DevOps Engineer is a varied day that includes:

  • DevOps Evangelism- working with Agile teams in implementing DevOps techniques and technologies.
  • Acting as an SME with regards to all things DevOps, working as the foremost authority when it comes to this area with an emphasis on "DEV".
  • Building, configuring, and maintaining CI/CD tools.
  • Automating manual development/deployment processes/operations.
  • Working predominantly from Belfast, interfacing with clients on occasion to gather technical requirements.

The Skill-set:

  • Experience, building and implementing CI/CD pipelines and build automation tools with a technical expertise in a number of the following: Jenkins, GIT, SVN, CVS, Cloud-Formation, Terraform, Chef, Ansible, Puppet etc.
  • Experience deploying application in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP etc).
  • Containerization experience using one or more of the following: Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes etc.
  • A passion for DevOps and the ability to communicate the benefits of adopting such approaches and technologies within the SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle).

The Package-

  • £60,000- £75,000 basic salary.
  • A substantial yearly bonus, Pension (11%).
