The DevOps Engineer (Linux, AWS) role:

  • Working with your fellow engineers to provide large-scale technical solutions for our clients' complex software issues, ensuring the outcomes are sustainable and reliable products.
  • You'll be working with the very latest technology to deliver IT strategies focused on user centric design, continuous integration and delivery and modern open source technology, alongside modern architectures like microservices and cloud technology.
  • You'll be given the invaluable opportunity to help us achieve and maintain our vision and leave our mark on the digital transformation within the UK Public Sector.

  • Must be security clearable.
  • Extensive experience in working with modern open source stack technology.
  • A passion for learning new technologies.
  • Previous experience in debugging complex, multi-server service in an intense production environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GNU/Linux.
  • Past work in building infrastructure in AWS with Terraform.
  • Past use of configuration management tooling, preferably Puppet.
  • Good level of fluency in Ruby, Go or Python.
  • Firm understanding of CI environments and how they enable the automation process using other orchestration tools.
  • Though not essential, an AWS certification such as SysOps, Developer or Architect is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for describing intricate technical concepts and liaising with stakeholders
