SSE Enterprise Telecoms division is going through a period of significant growth and as such, we are currently recruiting for a Delivery Programme Director on a Fixed Term Basis. Your role will be to manage the delivery of major programmes to budget, schedule and quality with a revenue responsibility of £75m.
Your role as Delivery Programme Director is to own the overall delivery of a programme from initial engagement in the business development or bid process, through to handover into execution, followed by the entire execution phase resulting in successful customer acceptance and programme closure.
You will be participate in the bid/business development of opportunities run by the SSEET Sales team and therefore will own and drive the creation of an appropriately skilled, multi-functional delivery team through timely internal and external appointments.
The Delivery Programme Director will own and define the delivery of solutions that realise the business case value to agreed budget, schedule and quality outcomes ahead of acceptance into the execution phase.
As confident communicator, you will develop and maintain strong customer relationships while progressing a delivery outcome for both our customers and the Telecoms business leadership team.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
You should have extensive experience as a Programme Director for high value, strategic customer programmes in a Telecoms business delivery environment; with demonstrable understanding of the UK Telecoms market, business basics and common challenges for delivering change in a UK Telecoms business world.
To be successful in this role you will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience in the role. A professional accreditation in project/programme management is desirable and a telecoms engineering background would be preferential but is not essential.
You will have strong experience of running projects/programmes deploying fibre technology and proven experience of managing multiple 3rd parties to agreed outcomes.
Having a strong understanding of the basic disciplines of programme financial management is essential to the success of this position.
You have proven leadership skills with the ability to lead, motivate and empower team members to evolve and develop thereby improving the Telecoms business delivery capability. Furthermore, you will be responsible for progressing your own development through pro-actively driving discussing and identifying appropriate opportunities in conjunction with your manager.
