About the Department

Our SHE function helps our teams across SSE to deliver this and ensure that we get everyone home safe at the end of the working day.
What is the Role?
Reporting to the Corporate SHE Manager, you'll be an advocate of practical and proportionate risk management and will support the delivery of various workstreams within the Group function and the Corporate Service business area. Some of the key areas you'll be involved in are: developing SHE Management Systems; embedding and delivering SHE assurance processes; working with data capturing systems; carry out incident investigations and supporting construction and maintenance projects.
What do I need?
A competent professional, with an excellent understanding of SHE risk management, you'll need to be pragmatic, flexible with a people-centred approach. You should be an excellent communicator with a natural ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You'll have the ability to use a wide range of techniques to influence change at all levels of the organisation and will possess a well-structured, systematic approach with the ability to identify and analyse technical issues and understand risks in order to provide appropriate solutions.
You must hold as a minimum Tech IOSH membership with the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, holding a NEBOSH Certificate (Or equivalent), and be able to demonstrate experience in the key areas noted above.
Due to the level of mobility required, a full UK driving licence is essential.
