About the Department
Energy Customer Solutions is the face of SSE to our customers in GB and Ireland, providing leading and reliable B2B services as well as leading retail solutions for our B2C customers.
What is the Role?
The main purpose of this role is to develop and optimise work for the Credit & Collections teams, provide insight and recommendation to improve performance and feed into risk teams to inform decision making. As part of this role you will have your own performance and KPI reporting for Collections and will have to form part of the Collections Leadership team with a responsibility for managing collections annually.
Ensure the delivery effective and responsible outcomes for our customers ensuring we are adhering to all Standard Licence Conditions, ability to pay principles and our commitment to treating customers fairly.
Ensure effective KPI reports are developed. Work with CI (Customer Service) to ensure analytics provided into strategies and insight are operationalised.
-3rd Party Management
Manage the performance levels of 3rd parties, ensuring checks and balances are in place for review and audit purposes (covering Safety and Reputational Risk). Be the Credit and Collections decision authority in contract negotiations. Engage with Procurement, Finance and Compliance/Assurance to ensure all contractual arrangements are effective, compliant and in line SSE codes of conduct and standards.

Remain abreast of industry developments and market trends within designated sectors and proactively introduce these to the organisation. Learn from best practice within other industry leading companies and keep abreast of changes in the organisation that could impact the business area and the way that we interact with our customers.
Lead a team of agile, highly skilled expert users. Ensure employees are well informed and supported, including identifying training needs and encouraging staff engagement, to drive great place to work results.
What do I need?
-Understanding of both Energy & Non-Energy products and services with knowledge of future opportunities within the industry, especially related to Collections
-Understanding of SSE Customer Solutions strategy and how individual contribution makes a difference
-Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements and data protection legislation
-Understanding of the Utilities market and how the various market participants interact through the industry including but not limited to; channel shift, pricing, competitive advantage, competitive markets authority
-Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
-Demonstrable ability managing a team and helping improve the performance of others
-Ability to analyse, manage and improve the performance of a business unit
-Awareness of a variety of management/leadership styles/theories and how best to apply them
-Understanding of methodology for change, including value stream mapping and process improvement
-Ability to champion and lead change effectively for stakeholders both above and below
-Ability to manage to budget and forecast effectively
-Passionate about delivering a positive customer experience and exceeding expectations
