What is the Role?

Due to growth a fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager to join our Civils and Fibre cabling team, helping us to manage the full life cycle of fibre, civils, and electrical infrastructure projects within the UK. You will be responsible for designing proposals, tenders, costings and quotations as well as conducting site surveys and discovery exercises. You will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure the projects are delivered on time and to budget.

The ideal candidate will already have experience of managing and leading others, including external sub-contractors. You will have a good knowledge of NRSWA and local authority procedures, knowledge of PIA, HAUC and CDM. Health and Safety regulations are essential and suitable qualifications such as IOSH, SMSTS are required. You'll be a great communicator who is able to effectively manage and motivate your team. You should be organised, have good process-management skills and able to manage time effectively to ensure that you and your team can work to tight deadlines. A good working knowledge of MS Office is also essential as you will be required to produce regular reports.

You will have the ability to cope with a wide range of challenging deliverables in a demanding, evolving environment and display a strong understanding of SSE's business needs. Self-motivated and capable of influencing others, you'll be confident in communicating with stakeholders at all levels both internally and with external suppliers.
