Salary: Up to £35,648 (plus overtime and travel payments / supplied vehicle / up to 5% annual bonus)

About the Department

SSE Enterprise Telecoms is the specialist system integration business of SSE. We offer the expertise from a company with significant resources and infrastructure and its own extensive corporate optical fibre nationwide telecom networks. We provide all aspects of system integration, from optic fibre cabling through to implementing complete LAN and WAN infrastructures, Civils underground duct networks are all undertaken for clients nationwide.

What is the Role?

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be required to undertake a variety of tasks adhering to and promoting the company's core safety values at all times. This will include the supervision / auditing of sub-contractors during excavation activities as well as optical fibre cable installation, termination and testing ensuring that SSET's high standards are maintained focusing on SHE and Quality. You will be reporting to and assisting Project Managers in preparing costs and quotations. Assisting Project Manager in carrying out site surveys.

Your main day to day focus will be ensuring on site safety standards and installation quality of our sub-contractors are maintained at all times whilst adhering to the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSAWA) and the current CDM regulation. Flexibility is a must for this role.

What do I need?

Able to write and receive work packages and safety documentation, demonstrate detailed working knowledge of Telecoms civils duct installation / fibre cabling, splicing and testing.

Liaise with Clients, Sub Contractors and Suppliers as required & have the confidence / experience and knowledge to solve on site day to day issues within the scope of the project.

Demonstrate the ability to use a PC / tablet to receive / send e mails, photos, drawings etc along with carrying out on site daily risk assessments / site inductions / vehicle and plant check sheets / HAVS / assist with the completion of construction phase plans / site audits / tool box talks.

Understand the roles and responsibilities under the 2015 CDM regulations.
