About the Department
Energy Customer Solutions is the face of SSE to our customers in GB and Ireland, providing leading and reliable B2B services as well as leading retail solutions for our B2C customers.
What is the Role?
This role sits in the SSE Business Energy Smart Programme ('BESP) supporting the Deployment Operations workstream in governing Business Energy's smart meter deployment planning and delivery. The BESP owns the BE roll-out plan and is responsible for co-ordinating the roll-out of smart meters in line with the national mandate.
Part of the BESP team, this individual will directly report to the Campaigns Project Manager and work closely with Business Energy's Marketing team and SSE Business Energy's Smart Programme team. The role will also have a direct report, which is a copywriter.
The individual chosen will play a pivotal role in driving smart metering demand for Microbusiness (MBC) and Small to medium Enterprise (SME) customers portfolio, by coordinating multiple campaigns according to tailored contact strategies. This role will help SSE Business Energy to drive the smart meter roll-out and deliver targets aligned to the Smart strategy and regulatory mandates.
In this role, the successful applicant is expected to:
- Ensure the delivery of the smart metering campaigns for MBC and SME customers, in line with the business smart strategies and regulatory mandates from Ofgem, SMICoP, BEIS.
- Support the SMETS2 smart metering uptake for SSE Business Energy's MBC and SME customers, by working with the Campaigns Project manager to develop and implement campaign variations
- Maintain close contact with the members of the BESP team to ensure specific smart metering requirements are aligned with the smart campaign delivery, while also being aware of the industry specific requirements
- Manage the copywriter resource in order to ensure the collateral is delivered on time and in line with specific requirements.
- Support/facilitate campaign reporting in line with business requirements
This is a diverse and varied role which supports the development of a new pivotal capability for SSE Business Energy. It will require a hands-on approach combined with very strong time management and the ability to develop and maintain strong business relationships, both within SSE Business Energy and with external partners.
We need someone who is efficient, smart and able to balance competing demands. You will need strong marketing skills and PowerPoint / Excel and HubSpot as a minimum. There is no need for detailed knowledge of Smart meters, although this would be a big plus. B2B experience would also be desirable.
What do I need?
To be effective in this busy role, you should have the ability to produce high-quality work quickly with good attention-to-detail. You will be operating in a pressured but exciting environment. This will necessitate the prioritisation and coordination of tasks to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Organisation and time management skills are essential, together with a flexible and self-motivated attitude. This role will require you to have experience within a customer focused transformation role with exposure to a project/programme environment - it is desirable if you have practised within a B2B environment
