About the Department
SSE Power Distribution, part of the SSE group, owns and operates two electricity distribution networks and one transmission network, comprising some 123,000 substations and 127,000km of overhead lines and underground cables, distributing electricity to 3.5 million homes and businesses in the North of Scotland and Southern England.
What is the Role
Our teams are growing and achieving great results, and wed like you to join us. As a Cable Jointer you'll be involved in all aspects of work on our HV & LV Network; carrying out jointing and cabling work for supply restoration on a pre-planned and quick response basis. You'll be in a supportive team, with a strong sense of development and process improvement.
What do I need?
- Relevant experience working in a similar role is essential
- Track record in construction, repair and operation of electrical plant and equipment up to 11kV
- Previous or current DNO LV and HV authorisations
- Full UK driving licence
- High regard for excellent customer service, proven team working capabilities and outstanding communication skills
