SSE Enterprise Contracting is one of the UK's largest Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors with a product/service portfolio ranging from M&E LV, HV, Instrumentation, Street Lighting, Facilities Management through to Combined Heat and Power solutions.
What is the Role?
As part of a value adding Assurance function, you'll be an experienced Business Assurance Lead who will drive the development and continual improvement of a robust Integrated Management System across the organisation, while working closely with all operational and functional disciplines.
You will lead on a wide range of audit and assurance activities including managing and delivering process improvement projects to strengthen the control environment and increase efficiency, which will be expected on time and within budget. To complete, a good understanding of the 3 Lines of Defence model and how it should be deployed is essential.
What Do I Need?
To be successful in this role, you'll have experience working within an Assurance function and be a qualified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor (or similar), with extensive experience of carrying out risk-based and compliance-based audits across all elements of a large organisation. Ideally, you'll hold a Lean Six Sigma or Project Management Qualification, have a good understanding of IT systems controls and be a competent user of all standard Office and Web-based applications.
You will also have significant experience of facilitating and hosting workshops to lead operational and functional areas in the development of business governance and mapping of processes and that are compliant, lean and efficient.
We will also be looking for you to be confident and self-motivated, with the ability to challenge conventional ways of working. You'll have excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail, the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, but in alignment with strategic goals. You'll also be able to influence and coach others, as well as being a systematic and analytical problem solver.
Finally, you'll be Willing to occasionally travel (approx. 15%) and therefore a full UK Driving Licence is essential.
