What is the Role?
The SSE Renewables Business Development Team is focused on identifying, supporting and successfully delivering renewable projects; this can be through organic opportunities and also acquisition/divestment opportunities.
The Business Analyst is a key role in supporting the delivery of such projects. The role will involve working directly with teams across SSE Renewables to identify, control and monitor project commercial risks/opportunities and construct appropriate responses.
The role will require extensive engagement with business representatives from SSE Renewables and wider.
Some of your main accountabilities will include;
- Commercial assessment of opportunities, including evaluating the value and risk of potential investments.
- Prepare and present project Financial Appraisals to the development team and corporate finance.
- Ensuring large capital projects are aligned with market operations and merits of different trading options.
- Participate in the delivery of divestment/acquisition activities of renewable assets.
- Provide regular updates on the markets, including updates on compliance and regulatory changes in the UK and Ireland renewables market.
What do I need?
We are looking for someone who has previous experience working within a similar role as part of a team involved in the delivery of high-profile projects. A strong commercial awareness and a firm understanding of financial investment appraisal techniques will be necessary. You'll be comfortable working with a broad and diverse range of stakeholders within various operations and management teams, all the way up to Director level.
You will be able to take the initiative when required and communicate assessment outcomes effectively and clearly to the business and key stakeholders.
