About the Department
The Enterprise Division comprises four companies: Contracting, Rail, Telecoms and Utilities. The SSE Enterprise Projects and Operational Support Team support the entire Enterprise division leading the deployment of best practice in assurance, project management, engineering and in handling strategic projects.
SSE Enterprise Utilities is the Distributed Energy and Private Networks business of SSE plc. We finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for commercial, industrial and residential customers - providing them with a market leading project development service and certainty of operational performance and asset management.
What is the Role
An Asset Integrity Manager is required to join the SSE Enterprise Distributed Energy division to be responsible for the continued management of the condition and upkeep of Multi-occupancy dwelling gas networks adopted by the IGT owner Indigo Pipelines (SSE Utility Solutions are the contracted Asset Manager for Indigo Pipelines Ltd) to ensure sound integrity and thus continued safe operation.
Your role is to manage the Periodic Safety Inspections Program of relevant steel systems supplying high rise and other multi-occupancy developments. Therefore, strong knowledge of IGEM/G/5 (Gas in Flats) is essential as well IGEM TD 3 & 4.
As a strong people manager, you will oversee a small team of inspections personnel and supervise any associated repair & replacement activities.
What do I need?
The ideal candidate will have the ability to display an understanding of current gas industry connection activities. Ideally, you be a member of the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers as an Engineering Technician or Incorporated Engineer or working towards either of these.
You will have exceptional communication and report writing skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft office.
A full current UK driving license is required as this position will require on-site management activities as well as regular liaison with property management organisations.
To be considered for the role, you will require a excellent knowledge and experience of the following:
- Relevant Gas Industry Legislation and Regulations
- Relevant Institute of Gas Engineers Main Laying and Service Laying Standards (TD/3 and TD/4) and IGEM/G/5 (Gas in Flats), as well as other applicable IGEM and gas industry standards.
- Recognised H S& E qualification or equivalent experience
- SCO trained (AE/CP Accredited) or equivalent experience
- NRSWA accreditation, preferable but not essential
