What is the Role?

SSE's Business & Operational Support department is responsible for providing technical support to Business Energy. We provide support for existing applications, manage the testing and rollout of all new applications and releases, and respond to business requirements for change using rapid application development tools (primarily C# .Net, SQL, MS Access and MS Excel).

You'll also be expected to assist in the development of MIS reports from a variety of systems. Working on your own initiative, you'll plan and manage tasks to meet deadlines and will be responsible for ensuring that all challenges are effectively resolved. You'll also identify opportunities to reduce cost drivers and improve efficiency and customer service within the process.

We work in a pressurised environment and you will need to be able to demonstrate a proactive approach, prioritise your own workload within demanding schedules and take ownership of problems and requests. Teamwork is also a key part of this role where you'll be expected to share your knowledge and experience with others to build up a broad set of skills across the team.
