We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Network Team Leader, to lead the SSE IT Network Team based in Dublin. This team supports a network spanning the UK and Ireland, with varying site-types: from windfarms and thermal power stations, to depots, data centres and corporate offices along with call centre services for SSE Airtricity.
What is the Role?
This is a varied role, where you'll take key accountability for managing the network and telephony team, as well as managing third party vendors and service suppliers. You'll provide mentoring and support to network team members, deputising for the Team Manager as required.
You'll also be required to plan, design, deliver and support key network solutions. Youll take responsibility for deployment projects to ensure smooth delivery of network installations, and maintain, manage and improve WAN/LAN, QoS for voice, video and critical applications.
Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you'll deliver any network design changes - LAN, WAN, Remote Access, Internet Access solutions, and ensure network device configuration / management is correct.
What do I need?
To succeed in this role, a background in enterprise networking (routing and switching) environments, as well as team management experience would be preferred. A qualification in Cisco CCNP or equivalent would also be useful.
You'll be a strong team player with previous team management experience and the ability to drive and motivate others. You'll need to enjoy working in a challenging environment where the focus is on reporting and uptime.
In terms of technical knowledge, wed love you to have good working knowledge of WAN optimisation, WLAN/WLCs and Cisco IPT. You should also have experience with managed-service partners and vendor management, and the ability to document and present network proposals and solutions.
