SSE Enterprise Utilities is the Distributed Energy and Private Networks business of SSE plc. We finance, own, operate and maintain energy infrastructure for commercial, industrial and residential customers - providing them with a market leading project development service and certainty of operational performance and asset management.

What is the Role?

We are looking to recruit a Job Programmer/Planner into the Distributed Energy Gas Delivery team, based from our office in Poole. As a team we assist in all back-office work for laying Gas pipe on new housing developments. You will be responsible for the planning /Booking of all gas work and producing job packs for our operational staff and assist customers wanting to book in work via telephone and email.

As part of this team, you will be responsible for all areas of administration/data entry. Running a live programme/ diary for up to 8 teams, covering works all over the South, East and West. Strong organisational skills and a good level of computer literacy, in particular Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) are essential for completing daily work and preparing and producing reports for management if required. Strong attention to detail will enable you to maintain the high degree of accuracy required for data capture and recording. You will regularly update this information onto our internal systems. This is primarily an admin role, but you will learn the basic technical side of laying gas pipe in order to complete the job packs and book work in, the ability to learn a new skill and continue learning about the industry is very important.

When working in any utilities, it is paramount you have Strong attention to detail, this will enable you to maintain the high degree of accuracy required to meet our high expectations with compliance for data capture and recording. You will regularly update this information onto our internal systems (training will be provided).

What do I need?

The successful candidate should have a strong background in Administration with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.

Strong time management and planning skills will be needed to meet strict daily deadlines, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will be proactive and self-motivated with a track record of producing high quality work and good communication skills. This job requires communication with all levels of management and clients. You must be approachable, confident and a good problem solver.
