What area(s) / disciplines of engineering and technology do you recruit?

For the technical schemes, applications are welcomed from engineers specialising in the following disciplines (a minimum of a 2:1 degree):

  • Aeronautical
  • Manufacturing
  • Materials
  • Electrical and electronic

For the commercial schemes, applications from a number of disciplines (a minimum of a 2:1 degree):

  • Science,

What makes a great application to ExxonMobil?

  • How quickly can you display you meet the requirements for this role?
  • How do you showcase your differentiating strengths to stand you apart from others?

  • Keep it concise and do not forget the basics e.g. good formatting


What preparation can you do for the tests?

  • Practice, practice, practice!! Look up test providers like SHL and work through their practice examples
  • Find somewhere quiet where you won’t be disturbed to do the test, allow up to an hour.
  • For the numerical test, you have 18 questions to do in 25 minutes – calculators are allowed
  • For the working styles element there’s no right or wrong answers, rather is assesses personal behavioural preferences e.g. how you like to work. So, select the most appropriate and don’t try to pre-empt what answers you think you should be giving.
  • Take the test promptly once you receive the invite, the invite does have an expiry date.
